Title: LANCOME ABSOLUE re-lighting with emissive material
Post by: elliasp on August 27, 2011, 08:52:03 AM
Thanks to the webminar about emissive materials, I decided to work again on the Lancome still life.

I was surprised to see that the result is more "photographic" or more "real" with emissive material, than with an HDRI only  :o

Francois - I didn't think the original could get any better, but the emissive material really brings out more detail, especially in the clear plastic cap.  The lighting pulls the product forward from the background, giving the scene better depth.

Would be good to see a diagram showing how the scene is constructed.  I'd like to experiment with adding lights.

Thank you.  That was what I was hoping to see.  Now I get a good idea how the emissive is affecting your render.

Better than a flag or reflector in photography because you can make it invisible to the camera :)

Yes - I did see that webinar when it came out, but I plan to review it again.
