Title: Wrong RGB between Rhino 6 and Keyshot 7.3
Post by: martim on January 07, 2019, 06:12:05 PM
When we export (via Live Link) modells from Rhino 6 to Keyshot 7.3 the RGB Values in Keyshot are wrong and lighter.
They are similar when we change Gamma in Keyshot to 1 - but then included textures are to dark.
I thought this should be fixed in keyshot 7 - someone an idea?

Thanks Martim

I would avoid using images with a CMYK color space as textures or labels. They will not look the same as they do in Illustrator or Indesign. The reason for that is KeyShot does not use color profiles to convert from CMYK to RGB color values. So the conversion is rather arbitrary and incorrect.
As Perry suggests, it is best to get the images in RGB color space.

I know you're not exporting CMYK images but I think the same applies here. I'm not that familiar with Rhino but I doubt it's exporting in sRGB (or any profile for that matter), the color space of KeyShot.

Hi Martin,

Your intuition is correct, we are misinterpreting the imported colors. We will have to change the plugin and importer to make sure they convert correctly from Rhino's color space.

Thanks,
