Title: Material graph node setup to hide area lights (and their shadows)
Post by: Thomas Vanden Abeele on March 09, 2020, 05:21:51 AM
Hi all!

I've been trying to get the technique in the following link to work, without luck - this is supposed to be a setup to have a hidden area/rectangle light that does not cast shadows. As you might know, the standard shadows checkbox doesn't work, as it still leaves the shadow of the rectangle light, even though it is hidden (see attached image).

But without any luck so far. I have Keyshot 9 Pro. I'm trying to recreate the example setup, but get the feeling Keyshot has changed a bit, in how material nodes and labels are connected. Either way, I haven't had any success so far.

Does anyone know of a genius nodal setup in the material graph to get hidden rectangle lights that don't cast shadows?

Thanks,
Thomas

It looks like a bug. Report it to Luxion.
Does it work with IES lights? I've attached an example with a IES overhad light below.
