Title: Fuzz material control extensions
Post by: Zeltronic on April 22, 2020, 01:17:36 AM
In view of the success of the fuzz material, it would seem to be interesting to extend the control capacities, in particular the possibility of finely controlling the direction of the fibers, this would open up very interesting new creative perspectives.

This would be great huh ? Imagine a combing tool made for fuzz.

Yes indeed, that's what I was thinking about, I don't know in which way it could also be possible to create directional maps like fiber height management maps?

Maybe with a vector displacement map?

I had to render some velcro a while back and while Fuzz did a great job for the loops, the hooks didn't come out as well simply because they lacked the control necessary to define the shape. They ended up being straight (at an angle) which was fine for this purpose, but wouldn't have held up to a macro shot.
