Title: It gets brighter
Post by: youknowwho4eva on October 24, 2011, 10:23:51 AM
On a recent render, I had to close KeyShot and reopen several times. As I was working on a render (start the render, see something I don't like, stop render, adjust, repeat) I noticed that after a couple of minutes, the light would start to gradually increase. All the settings would stay the same but in the quick render and the render the light (I guess the environment light) was getting brighter and I'd have to save close and reopen to get the light back to normal. A few minutes later it would start again. Anyone else seeing this?

This happens sometimes when setting the "gamma" value in the environment tab to a value other than 1. See if that's the case for you.

I agree with Jeff- I put a "mental piece of tape" over gamma in the environment tab so I can't adjust it.  It can really suprise you!  I adjust gamma only on the realtime tab, usually 1.8 to 2.2.
