Title: Keyshot NFT
Post by: LM6 on March 31, 2021, 04:07:00 AM
I havent been on here for such a long time, I hope everyone is keeping well.

Apologies in advance for this shameless plug.

I'm currently re rendering (Keyshot) some of my older work in 4-5k res to be sold as NFT
For those you might be interested (probably not many) it will become available on this market place very soon.

NFTs are a scam. It's nothing but a grift to push crypto currency (which is also a scam). No one who is falling for this "get rich quick scheme" is going to make any real money.

Except Beeple who quickly converted his sale to real world money. Smart man.

He's a big crypto proponent, but even those guys know when to jump ship. And he's a good enough guy I would trust he's not going to scam anyone buying his work. I mean, he's from small town wisconsin fer cripes sake.

Cool shot LM6! Good on ya to try to make some NFT's. I was surprised that not more people on this forum are talking about NFT's!

Thanks, I was surprised as well..
Has anyone listed any artworks yet? what platform are you using? I would be interested to hear your experiences.

I haven't looked into it myself to be honest. I think the Blender community would be the first place to start for information. Andrew Price has been talking about it which means a lot of people will be looking into it.

Yes I did and I am working on uploading more  :) Believe or not, it works! This is a link for my KeyShot animations that I uploaded there. Surprisingly, I sold one last week  :)

Spent around 110 USD to mint a drop on Rarible. Nothing. Profile still in verification. It's a pyramid.

Cool to see, Peter. Excited to see another option for artists to be recognized and add another revenue stream.  I'm light on ETH atm :) but keeping an eye on how this area develops. I think, once matured, it could go along way to help in IP protection (Bluebox is doing interested development in the music space). But, as with any sale of IP, would recommend keeping an eye on this aspect. All the best with bringing more attention to your incredible work!

Maybe not as good as you think. That was an inside job.

"What's interesting is that Beeple, the creator of the artwork, is actually a business partner of Metakovan's [the buyer] . He owns 2% of all the B20 tokens. I'm sure there is no conflict of interest here."

Like I said, it's a scam.

Hate to say I told you so. That "minting" fee was just a way to get you to buy crypto currency which only helps the people who already own some. It's a fake boost. Now you're stuck with worthless crypto instead of $110 USD that actually has value. Never get involved in anything that is "pay to play". I'm glad to see that at this point NFTs are already pretty much dying out. You can only run a scam for so long before people start to catch on.
