Title: rotating model in KS3 animation
Post by: barrychatham on November 24, 2011, 12:48:29 PM
Hi Guys

I am currently experimenting with Keyshot 3 animation which so for is great.

I have a question that I cant quite see the answer yet....

I have modelled a simple box in Solid Edge with a pivoting lid, I have defined a cylinder in Edge which I assumed I could rotate but I cannot define this feature as a rotating feature, I watched the avi online which shows a pivot helper?  How do I define this?

Please help

ha ha nailed it.

The helper object needs to be a cunningly hidden components.

I will create a video to show you.

Took a while but I got it, its not like modelling in the cad arena, I was trying to pick up on radius edge to rotate.

Once I added a hidden pin if you like it worked.

hi guys

it took me a while to workout how I can animate this cardboard box opening.

I modelled a hinge pin which you cannot see in the model but it is there....

I will add the preview avi and the bip if you like to see how I have done it.
