Title: Weird artifacts when rendering with IES lights
Post by: Marcelo Aguiar on August 28, 2021, 09:54:06 AM
Hey everyone,

I'm trying to render an interior scene with 3 IES spotlights (0.2 multiplier and 50mm falloff radius). I assigned the light material to a small sphere just below the lamp object.
When I render all these white pixels appear and it's really annoying. When I move the light sources down, away from the lamps, they disappear, obviously. But I'd like to keep them close together... anyone has an idea of what's causing it and what could be done to prevent it?

Thanks!!!

Hey Marcelo,

That looks like a caustics issue. Search the forum for fireflies or caustics spots - that should turn up some threads to help get you started on troubleshooting your scene.
