Post by: emscop on December 28, 2011, 11:14:24 PM
Scuse me for my bad english ! i post because i have a problem, i have a scene, a street with flats, very simple, and when i ask a render at 300 dpi ( 90x60 cm ) my intel i7 950 is running during 30 hours.... with quality " good ". That's normal ? My scene is imported from Alias autodesk .wire folder.

Thank you for answers

Hi,

It's hard to say why it's taking so long without the details. The real-time render is probably best in this case. I'm guessing you are using KeyShot 2 - you can use the real-time render by checking it under Render options>Render tab. Then under the quality tab, uncheck "Max number of frames" and check "Max render time in seconds", type in a few hours worth (in seconds) or so and let it render. When you are happy with it, you can then stop it at any time to save.

Well, 90x60cm @ 300dpi is about 10,000 x 7000 pixels. A very large image. This will take four times as long to render as an image at 2500 x 1750 (also a large image).
