Here's an animation I did in beta back when I got to animate  :'( It was just for fun to play with the animations.

I didn't watch the whole video, but I don't use Max. All I did was make a cylinder to the dimensions of a quarter, put the front and back label on it. It rotates around the center of the coin in two direction. One for the spin, and one to make it gradually fall (also have to slowly lower it at the same time). Then I think it's on a turn table. I had trouble adding a third spin to the coin, so that the coin isn't always facing head straight up and tails straight down, but you don't ever really notice that.

I know that you don't use max. I got a ring to do the same thing just by following the max video. I posted it in case anyone was curious how the animation could be done.
