Title: Is render speed affected when there are hidden models in the scene
Post by: bendruce on January 14, 2012, 12:15:50 AM
Hi Keyshot forums

My question today is in relation to render speed and weather or not it is affected by having hidden objects in the scene.

In an effort to get consistent lighting across multiple product concept renders I have loaded multiple models into my current scene.

I then go about hiding/showing each of the models and rendering them out.

I've done this a couple times now and I get the feeling that the first product I render (i.e. the first one I have loaded into the scene) renders quicker than the others ( i.e. when I render the second model, having hidden the first one, it seems to render slower)

Is this just me or might there be something going on here....

Look forward to your thoughts.

In KeyShot 3 it will be much faster if you hide objects. In KeyShot 2 you can experience a slowdown.
