Title: Can I get rid of these lines?
Post by: tcast on January 23, 2012, 05:54:31 AM
Just got KS3 and was playing around this weekend.

I do have a question about getting the surface to not break up where the faces meet.

The ring is made from 12 30deg sections arrayed.

If you look at the silver ring at about the one o'clock position you can see a seam where the sections meet.

Anyway to get rid of that w/ KS or would I need to adjust the 3d model itself?

That is a tessellation issue. You will need to adjust inside Alibre.

Thanks.  I redid it and now each face of the twist is a ribbon that goes all the way around.

A pretty noticeable difference.
