Title: Wish I could spin my wheels..
Post by: eze49 on March 21, 2012, 12:03:40 AM
Wish there was a way to add motion blur to a still render.

especially rotational, and set the speed, to say the wheel of a car.

Well, in all the 3D packages I've ever used over 20 years - I've never heard of one that allows you to add Motion Blur to a static object...

*cough* ... 3DSmax ... *cough*

It's done by animating, then it'll render up several animation frames, then blur them together.

I know how motion blur is  achieved Phillipe ;) I meant applying it without animating the object first...

Which is what I thought they meant...

Well there IS the animation option in KS, so even without activating the entire animation setup in KS, it could probably be done ...

Select an object (like a weel), set it's rotation axis correctly, then set how fast it should "blur" rotate.  Then have KS render out a couple of renders and blur-merge them together after the proces is done.  I'm sure it can be done by KS.  Not in 1 go, but the whole render step phase could be done automaticly.
