Title: Light from emissive through translucent materials?
Post by: DriesV on March 31, 2012, 11:35:11 AM
Hi,

Can light from the emissive material type scatter through translucent materials?
I've made several attempts with varying light intensities, thicknesses of ranslucent parts, levels of translucency.

None of them produced scattered emissive light.

Detailed indirect illumination was always on in the realtime tab.

Can this be done in KeyShot?

greetings,
Dries

Light from the emissive material doesn't scatter light through the translucent material yet.

I'm interested to know why KeyShot doesn't do this yet.
Can you provide a technical insight in how the light from emissive differs from HDRI light with respect to scattering?

Any idea when this will be implemented?

It's just that I find Translucent materials very fun to experiment with and realistic scattering of emissive light will most definitely double the fun ;)!
