Title: possibility to open MOI /3DM files in Keyshot3?
Post by: wasfr123 on April 11, 2012, 06:34:37 AM
Hi,
I use MOI (Moment of Inspiration) for my 3D modeling however I still have to use Rhino or export to obj or step formats to be able to open into Keyshot3. Keyshot and MOI are great programs for people like me; not really expert in modelling and often in a hurry to deliver crisp professional renders..

So would it be possible for the next Keyshot v3 update to include possibility to read the actual NURBS data out of the 3DM file like it does for IGES or STEP formats instead of only looking for Rhino's cached display mesh information?

Thanks for your response,
Don

Hi Don

If you use Rhino, why don't you install Rhino > Keyshot plugin to run KS3 directly from Rhino environement ?

Otherwise it's fast to switch to Rhino's shaded mode to generate the mesh

We may look at reading in the NURBS information from Rhino directly.

Hi Arnaud, thanks for your advice but try MOI yourself for a while and you will realise why I'd rather work just with this very user friendly program.
Cheers, Don.
