Title: Shadow issue
Post by: Trampam on April 21, 2012, 01:26:58 PM
Attached file depict problem - dark dots near the roofline of building. I've already try as many adjustments as possible, but i still can't get rid of those.

Some one have any advices on this part?

Maybe  the part of model where is the crease goes (there is small ledge) is to narrow that Keyshot can trace it in proper way?

Thanks in advance

Was this done using the offline renderer?
If so, try increasing "global illumination quality" and see what that gives you.

Greetings,

Hi DriesV.

I increased shadow quality and global illumination a bit. This helps.

Yes, this was made using the offline renderer.

Thanks for help

Have you tried using the realtime renderer for your final image (either max. time/max. samples)?
I think it might give you a satisfying result without having to "worry" about any quality setting.

Previously i didn't use real-time renderer, because renders have not smooth look and there are a lot of grain some time.
I try it on current sample and recieve similar grain effect as well. So i would prefer to use advanced control mode since it will give more crisp image.

Try disabling the "sharp shadows" option in the render quality>advanced control settings. Might look better for this scene.
