Title: SW Assemblies
Post by: ronmarko on April 25, 2012, 11:49:47 AM
Can I import an assembly from Solidworks and then animate individual components - Or do i need to save each component of my assembly separately and import them individually?
Thanks!

Yes you can.

The reason I asked is that when I import an assembly I'm unable to manipulate individual parts.
The hiearchy is listed but Keyshot3 is treating the assembly as one single object. I cannot select components within the hiearchy and manipulate them.
I guess my question is how do I quickly separate my assembly in keyshot instead of importing each piece?

Are you using KeyShot 3? If so, then you simply right click on the part you want to move in the realtime window or the scene tree, and select Move Part.
