Title: three factors of hardness of the shadow
Post by: fario on May 15, 2012, 04:26:04 AM
Is it possible to implement a setting function of shadows?

for example: three factors of hardness of the shadow.

In order to have soft or hard shadows.

see my post: http://keyshot.com/forum/index.php/topic,3819.0.html

thank you.

Antoine

Shadows are a result of the environment lighting. You will need to use an environment with a stronger light source if you want harder shadows.

Here's what I did ... I took an existing HDRI and edited the sun out and toned down the saturation to black & white.
Then I simply put a pin on it with the editor in KS3.1.
Now I can control the position of the sun / shadow and by editing "the suns" size and emission, I can control how shadows look.  You can even control the suns color ..
Easy as hell :)
This sort of HDZ file should come with KS3.2 !!
