When trying to open a series of scenes saved by a coworker, the preview window was all split up reminiscent of tracking issues on old TVs. The scene rendered normally and the problem resolved itself after resizing the window, so this isn't really a big deal.
I've attached a screenshot of the issue and the render output (with the actual model replaced by some nice boxes)
Must be a graphics related issue. Make sure your drivers are up to date.
