Title: cutaways and arrows
Post by: techdoku on September 28, 2012, 03:52:41 AM
Hi guys,

I would be realy happy about the possibilty to create cutaways (like in autodesk showcase) but with the option to render it too. in showcase you would loose the cuts after rendering.
So with cuts available you would not need to cut everything in Pro/E,...

it would be also great to have 3d arrows and lines to put directly on materials (so you would be able to show f.e.: air flow through pipelines, over cars etc.)

how does that sound to you?

We are looking into cutaways, but there is not commitment on when this would happen.

As far as 3D arrows go, why don't you model them and then import these and place them accordingly?

I vote for cutaway as well along with controlling opacity of parts. This is more the realm of technical illustration and Keyshot seems geared more towards photo real sales type presentation images so we can only hope. However having the capacity to animate cutaway, opacity and exploded parts would give it some real appeal for technical illustrators. The addition of alternate rendering styles like diffuse with outlines would be welcome as well.
