Title: Keyshot VR + Leap Motion
Post by: idmahoney on March 12, 2013, 06:43:39 PM
I received my Leap device last week and have been loving every minute of use. I have currently been working on hand gesture scripts in java and working on ways to make product development process more intuitive and fluid. Leap + Keyshot VR felt like a perfect couple for user interaction and a medium in which Industrial designers can present concepts to clients.

Here is a video sample of my first experimentation. Expect a full length video in HD with a more interesting model to showcase. The powerful nature of Keyshot has allowed me to create stunning renders, something the old iphone is not great in showing off!

Thank you for looking at my post and I hope to work with other developers on making my dream a reality!

Kindest Regards,
David Mahoney

Amazing! I'm astounded by how you move that object with your pointing finger and its far from the monitor.
I would like to see your other work.

I should be able to get a much much better video up by the end of this week, with some added bonus stuff. Lemme know if you'd like to see anything else.

Thank you for the kind feed back everyone. I have made some great developments in this next prototype. I am now able to use the Leap motions ability to sense depth to navigate any VR's that use a full tumble. This allows users to reach in and grab hold the product in a more dynamic manner. I'm very close to also finalising code that will allow users to pinch and zoom into their renders, which I am sure you all would love to do! I was wondering if anybody had any good VR's they have produced, that use a full tumble to be displayed in my next demo video?

Those asking, my other work can be found on my website at http://idmahoney.com

I look forward to posting a video on the next development of this project.
