love the area lights...I am wondering if you guys will add support to texture the color?
I see that the opacity is mappable which is great too..nice if for instace wanna simulate gobos.. and purposely shaped pool of light.

If you want to texture the light then you should use the emissive material.
thanks Thomas, but I thought that the introduction or area light or at least one reason was that emissive materials werent as efficen as these new lights and also didnt interact with translucent material. I just threw the idea there since you already have bump and opacity mappable on the area lights
