Not yet, I'm still having problems with that. Do you have any pointers for me?

What is the problem with rendering it with a white background?

When I use white color instead of environment the white always looks gray and dirty.

You could either:

1) render as a tiff with alpha chanel and create your own background to your liking in post.

2) chose a white flat background ... dissable ground shadows now and your backplate will be pure white.

3) chose a white flat background ... play with contrast and brightness to control your shadows (which will color your backplate darker (-> gray) and/or bring in a different HDRI to get harder/softer/more/less shadows.

I will try all three! Thanks for the advise.
