Title: Playing with Flames
Post by: Speedster on March 23, 2013, 02:50:08 PM
Always wanted to add flames to some of my cars, always without success.  Now in KS 4 it's a breeze!  Snatched the flames from a photo I shot at a local Rod Run, pulled them out in CS5, mirrored and tweaked them, added a stroke outline, and...  dropped right on my Bonneville Racer without a hitch.  I do wish the decal sliders were a lot more incremental, however.

Modeled in SolidWorks using the new nPower Surfacing plug-in.  And no, there's seldom tire tracks in the hard salt surface of the Bonneville Raceway in Utah, but it does build up on the tires  Awesome place, where all the land speed records have been set, and where hot rodding was born.

The rear view is what KeyShot competitors get to look at all day long!

Looks great except the tires are cutting through the ground plane in the first picture.
