Title: Hanging Lights
Post by: Mark_84 on April 04, 2013, 11:51:10 PM
Some very simple hanging lights rendered with KS4...you could hang it on your balcony or maybe use it in your summer terrace ;)

What do you think? There's some glowing stuff which I think it looks cool and at the same time it gives a special 'gist' to the whole render.

Tell me what do you think and how would you improve it! ;)

Rendered straight out, no photoshop hehe

Are you using nothing but the new light materials in the scene?

Hi Thomas!  ;)

Yes, I'm using only the new light materials. I was about to use some emissive hidden planes (as I see it's a very common technique) but I wanted to give it a try this way...and it looks (IMHO) a lot cooler. If you take your time in adjusting the wattage of the lamps you can end up in having a really cosy scene, it's just gorgeous.

You guys have done a really powerful tool, it's so cool to tweak every little aspect of the scene with the new KS4!

Regards,

I like this lamp design a lot. Cool you're only using the light material to light the scene. Would be great to see in that terrace setting. I do think the lamp material looks a little flat though. Is it meant to be a plastic? Would looks great as a stained wood.
