Title: choosing different materials
Post by: vmanivasakan on April 17, 2013, 12:27:45 PM
Hello everyone,

How do I choose different material and color for a feature in a part? For example, I have a my name engraved on a piece of block. I chose Aluminum material and black color for the block. But, the engraved letters also gets the same color and material. I want to have white letters. How do I do that?

Thanks.

Hi.

You have to assign different colors to your features back in your CAD software before exporting to KeyShot. Then you should be able to assign different materials in KeyShot.

Hope it helps.
Else ask again :)

Hi Esben,

I tried your suggestion. But it still doesn't work.

Be sure to go to the model in the Scene Tree and click "unlink".  Sometime the mapping applied in CAD are linked on import.  You have to "unlink" them.
