Title: Artifacts in Rendering
Post by: maymay on May 14, 2013, 07:12:24 AM
I'm getting some artifacts in renders done with "Advanced Control." On the left is the advanced control rendering, on the right is the realtime render. Anyone know what setting will alleviate this?

It looks like sharp shadows was the culprit. It was off.

Dear me, they look more like gouges than 'artifacts' to me - although the sample images you've uploaded are really small

Yeah, they're pretty nasty. This one shows them a little better, it's just a portion of a rendering. Can't show the whole thing.
The sharp shadows needs some work. With them off I get better results in some areas but I also get this stuff going on.

Hi Maymay

Do you have 'rounded edges' applied to the part?

No. I tried that feature once with bad results and haven't tried it again.

Me too - they say it will be fixed in a forthcoming update  ;)
