Title: Keyshot Performance issues
Post by: Dom_84 on May 29, 2013, 07:36:52 PM
Hi there

I am currently having performance issues with keyshot, I find the program overall quite laggy, expecially if i have another program such as solidworks open in the background.
I am running the following specs

Win7 64bit
HPZ420 workstation
Zeon e5 16-50 3.2ghz
32 GB ram
quadro 4000

Its a fairly powerfull machine, so i am wondering if it could be a driver problem or something. It runs that slow that even music i have playing in the backround breaks up and stops.

Any thoughts?

thanks

Start your task manager and check if you have other program running with high CPU load. Make sure you have enough memory and don't swap (seems like you have enough with 32 GB).
Is KeyShot running fine if don't have other programs running?
KeyShot is not so dependent on GPU drivers as long as you just have a fairly new OpenGL driver (2.x or better).

hey

I have looked at the task manager when the program is running, I have plenty of memory free, and all the other programs open are using none or very little CPU power. The task manager shows keyshot using 99% of the processor, is this normal?

The program does run a little better when nothing else is open, but its still not as smooth as i think it should be.
