Title: ECO radiator flow - revisited in 4.1 Toon materials...
Post by: DriesV on June 02, 2013, 12:10:13 PM
I made quick Toon versions of some radiator flow overview I did a while back.
The Toon material works really well for this type of shots. It helps to draw attention were needed.

DriesV - That is some very high quality "illustration" that would take a lot of work to produce in the conventional way.  No need re-invent the wheel when you already have the model assets.

Now - I'm waiting for someone to animate using the toon shader.  By that I mean showing movement of liquid or steam in the pipes.  Certainly it's possible using Adobe After Effects.  Maybe someone has a way to show movement of a material texture in KS animation.

I think you will be using this a lot at work. Perfect example of where this new material will pay for it self.
Thanks for sharing.

So cool Dries. Perfect for illustrations like this!

Ed, great idea about the animations. I've seen some arrows like Dries has illustrated before. Shown as toon material would definitely make it stand out.
