This is just my interpretation of Gooch Tone NPR, the real thing is a procedural shader... so this is not physically correct, but I like it anyway
J
Nice colours!
How did you get the toon to show a sharp reflection?
'Gooch' ???
c'mon dude, you gotta watch your language on these forums ;)

I hacked KS and implemented Phong shading for the Toon shader... ;)

You've got me there Ed, that went sailing straight over the top of my noggin...
ha, ok, have a look on the 'urban dictionary' or look it up in the profanisaurus.
"Phong shading" sounds like a euphemism as well!!
Don't worry, the problem lies in how my rotten, broken mind works and interprets innocuous terms. I need help..... really!

Lol, You better tell Bruce and Amy, the shader was named after them !!, don't think I'll ever use the term 'Phong shading' ever again...
J
just be careful not to put a phong near your gooch

Think I'd better quantify that before Henrik finds out... I didn't really hack KS, just blended two separate renders in Photoshop

I love the look of this also. LOVE. IT. (Using the same procedural method (http://keyshot.com/forum/index.php/topic,6161.msg28319.html#msg28319) as Neils??)
Blending layers in PS is still a mystery for me- would be neat to sneak it into a webinar sometime?

Thanks Josh, and no, I used gradient maps made in Photoshop...

Bill, I'll show you what I did if you're interested, it's only a couple of simple steps
J
Watcha waiting for? I know a lot of us Photoshop Newbies would like to see how to use the infamous "Blend Layers", as so many of you pros do it.
Bill G
Not at my computer at the moment Bill, I'll post it tomorrow morning...
J
I like this effect!!!!
