Title: Outdoor Environment Dark Shadows
Post by: multitech on July 29, 2013, 06:55:53 AM
Hi Guys,

I'm having trouble finding an outdoor environment that casts dark shadows like it was high noon on a sunny day.  There are some outdoor environments like the Alaskan Forest that have pronounced shadows, but they still aren't very dark.  Can there be dark black shadows without post production editing?

If you have the Pro version you can edit the HDRI and place a bright pin in the center of the sun.

Keep in mind that shadows assume ambient light. The shadow in the image that you are showing is pretty close.

Hi Thomas,

I don't have Pro to edit the HDRI.  This probably isn't the best example but if I needed the shadow darker to better match the HDRI image shadows, can that be done without editing the HDRI file?
