Title: TIE Fighter style cordless speaker heads
Post by: Despot on October 13, 2013, 02:02:55 PM
Modelled these yesterday in Groboto, further modelling and detailing in ZBrush then textured and rendered in KeyShot - wasn't going to post them as I'm ill at the moment with a virus of some sort (I think)... been puking my guts up all day long.

Anyway, at some point I might finish them off with stems and stand. I'm not a product designer, so don't look at these from that standpoint... they were just the result of an hours playing around in the sandboxes that are Groboto, ZBrush & KeyShot

The cross-ply bamboo texture is mine so is the hull plate texture on the main body. I had to physically restrain myself not to distress or damage them in some way in ZBrush, it's quite a departure for me to leave something clean  ;)

No post whatsoever, just a tiny bit of bloom added in KS

Thanks for looking

J

p.s. Do I need to worry about ILM/Geordie Lucas  ;) ?

Very nice J - Shame about the wood texture messing about, otherwise excellent stuff mate. Get well soon :)

Man, these are sick!  Oops- not the right word!  Stunning!  I'm not familiar with the modeling apps, but if possible, you can map the wood surfaces (any colors work) in such a manner as to align the grain in KS.  Keep 'em coming, and get well!

Nice to a T!
Would be insane to see a bunch of these babies in a wooden Death Star trench... *hint* *wink* ;)

love it, love it, love. Really makes me want to try Groboto. You may  inspire some stylish new drone design :)
