Title: Keyshot 4.2 - Groups
Post by: quigley on October 21, 2013, 07:44:18 AM
Guys, this is the feature I've been waiting for since Hypershot 1! Works perfectly so far. Excellent!

Thanks Kevin! I'd be interested in learning on how you use this in your workflow.

I also really like the groups feature. I use it as a work around to the poorly conceived, clunky model sets feature.
With groups I can move buried sub assemblies and parts to the top level of a group of a group so it is easier to hide
and show components. This is closer to what model sets should have been, a strictly graphic configuration tool.

I've been waiting for Group-tool since I swapped from Autodesk Showcase to Keyshot 3.0.
On my Windows 7 64 Bit workstation it seems to screw up the labeling, when moving grouped
models. This happens when open 4.1 prepared model on 4.2, add sub-group -> add to group -> move or rotate group.
Labels are not linked on the original parts. Didn't expect this.

Well that shouldn't happen, obviously. We will look into this.

Tested groups also at home on a Mac. Same thing happens. Yet, if grouping the parts first, then
position the labels, they will stay on their places when make turns or moves. I hope you'll find a fix for this.  ;)
