Title: Circular ground plane
Post by: NormanHadley on October 31, 2013, 02:41:17 AM
Ground planes are great but the eye tends to be drawn to the apex of the square, distracting from the product itself. It would be nice to be able to toggle to a circular ground plane for a smoother horizon.

At the time being, you can use an opacity map to round of the edges or shape the ground plane as you like.

You may already know this :)

Hi Esben.

You're right, but I always find the opacity method a bit unwieldy. I always find the opacity drops away too steeply or not steeply enough. The other way would be to import a thin disc into the geometry but I'm sure those coding guys at Luxion could throw us in a square/circle toggle without breaking a sweat.

True. It would definitely be nice to have :)
