Title: Interior

I understand that Keyshot has been designed as a product rendering package.
I use it all the time and think as I am sure you all do that it is a fantastic product.

Are there any plans however for a 'Keyshot Interior' engine? I know that if you guys produced something along these lines it would be better than the usual interior engines such as V-ray etc.

Is this something you are considering?

Have you checked out the "Velux version of KS" ?

There is no such thing as the "VELUX version of KeyShot". You are talking about the VELUX daylight visualizer - http://viz.velux.com

jbomb - what are you missing inside KeyShot as far as interior renderings go?

I asked about this (or something similar) back in V3. I thought it would be good to be able to bake out an interior hdri from the daylight vis program... or something.

So now that V4 has lights I don't think we are technically missing anything except a few good tutorials, some good materials (mainly thinking flooring and wall textures), I means of viewing IES light profiles easily, some good sky/sunlight domes and/or back plates with great views for use if windows are in your shot. And finally a sunlight simulator with time and location would be nice if possible.

I am using V3 so I may be missing out on some of the new features. I always felt with key shot that I was trying to force the engine to work in a way it wasn't designed to do, you cold make it work but it seemed more like tricks and work a round's rather than a simple intuitive system for interior rendering.
I guess it would be the same for something like Vray, yes it can do lovely product shot renders but it's power really comes in architectural rendering Interior and exterior. In some ways Keyshot in reverse.

As for specific features I think Edwardo has hit most of them.

V4 is for interior a definite improvement, for sure.  Having a sunlight simulator with time and location would be awesome indeed.  Maybe with the addition to add "fog" so you can simulate the light "pouring in" from the windows ...
