Title: Input file for settings?
Post by: mafrieger on December 01, 2013, 03:41:35 AM
Hi

I'm new to Keyshot and just testing the demo.

Just a question: is there any possibility to have a "model setup" via file?
The idea is to have different preconfigured "cleartext" files where some informations like
- colours
- textures
- background
- camera settings
are defined.

You choose one of these files, load that file and in addition a new CAD-Model
=> and have only to assign the geometry based settings to the bodies (colur, texture..) & "press render"?

I think there was recently an instructional video on the keyshot blog "setting up virtual studios" (or something similar). Basically just tweaking hdris/lights and camera angles, add backplates/ ground planes etc and saving the Bip file ready to drop in your geometry. Personally I quite like starting from scratch each time, but I'm a wrong'un!

Hope this helps
Ed

Thanks very much for your answer!
Just found the mentioned blog post here: http://keyshot.com/create-virtual-photo-studio-keyshot/2013/

sounds great!
I'll have a detailed look on it - the most interesting part for me now would be if it is possible to "read" theses part and edit them by hand with an standard editor...
