Title: Complete animation import from 3ds max
Post by: Arian Shamil on December 19, 2013, 10:24:53 AM
Hi!
I'd love if Keyshot will be capable to import a .max file to be able to import also the "modifier animation" (like the wave animation for example)...
The FBX file doesn't support the "modifer animation"...so I really hope if on next release will be possible a 100% compatibility with 3dsmax files/scene.
Thanks in advance
Arian

Hi! There will be any change to improve the keyshot "connection" with 3dsmax animation?
I cannot import to keyshot a lot of feature created on 3dsmax...

Unfortunately "modifier animations" will not be supported for a while.

Alembic is the answer.

Alembic is the answer.

I'm not in the entertainment/visualization industry and I'm a complete noob when it comes to rigged animations. However, I found myself reading about Alembic a while back. I think I understand its huge benefits to CG workflows... :)

If KeyShot were to support Alembic, I'm convinced a lot more CG veterans would include KeyShot in their pipelines.

@ DriesV
Yeah i'm trying to search a valid "connection" between 3ds max animation and keyshot...i know 3dsmax is good for rendering too but i want to use Keyshot for rendering :) (I'll do the animation e modelling with 3dsmax) :)

Dries, KeyShot already supports the Alembic file format.
