Title: Adding material to just a surface
Post by: DougDR on January 07, 2014, 01:49:56 AM
I would like to know how to add a color or material to just a surface and not a hole part?

To do so, you must isolate the surface in your modelling software either by:

- giving it a separate colour
- moving the surface to a separate layer
- separating the surface from the rest of the part

The option that works easiest for you will depend of the modelling software you use and the file type you import into KeyShot

And if you need to, you can create a special surface in your native CAD using a "split line" (SolidWorks) or a similar tool in other apps.  Then color the resulting surface.
