It's been too long since I posted a render. :)
Here are some shots of a stereolithography model of a radiator. Well, at least one corner of it...

Super nice plastic.
Very nice, and convincing STL material. Can I ask what material type and settings you used?

Solid glass with very slight coloration (HSV 210-1-99), IOR 1.45 and 0.01 roughness. That's all.
Dries
Yup, it is perfect.
Soon you will be able to share this material and others through our share site :-)
Here's another one.
Dries
Very good!

That is going to be SO amazing!
When is soon?? ;D
Dries
Alpha is close, and we will need some volunteers to start testing it. Are you up for it?
Who else wants to be one of the first ones to get their hands onto our share site? We will need content!

I've got my KeyShot shirt by my side on my desk. People know they should
not disturb me when I'm wearing it...
Dries
Excellent! More information coming shortly.
Another detail shot for both plastics.
Dries
Amazing.
Of course the material is great, but what adds to the realism is the level of detail. The slightly curved surface on the outside edges make such a difference.

Agreed. Keyshot has the ability to churn out good renders from crappy models, but when you import a good model with attention to detail and nice unstressed meshes the results are something else
Thomas, I would love to take part in the share sight. I have one or two 'donations' already, but would be happy to churn out a few more.
I'm quite excited about this site. It should make every ones lives a bit easier and will no doubt take some peoples work in directions they didn't imagine.
Cheers
Edwardo
You know, the clear material is a dead ringer for "K-resin", a styrene/polycarbonate co-polymer very popular in the medical device field. It has just a hint of haziness, or a cloudy quality.
Bill G
Thanks Edwardo. I will put you on the list.
PPSU prototype.
With slight and extensive PS tweaking. ;)
Dries
That's a pretty low res SLA machine you're envisioning there, and it already looks as if the prototype was left in the south facing windows for a month.
Simply perfect...
these are all just mouth watering. goodness Dries!
