Keyshot is an really great an easy to use programm with lots of advanced possibilities
Spaceclaim is the same for CAD plus having advanced import possibilities.
- so the perfect combination would be spaceclaim + keyshot.
Having this you could import nearly every filetype from any cad program via spacelaim's advanced import possibilities,
optimize/modify the file and than pass it to keyshot.
At this time it's not that great because you have to do often lots of work twice within keyshot - because their is no livelinking and changing a small part of the geometry in spaceclaim you have to do all the work again in keyshot... :'(
=> livelinking keyshot to spaceclaim and you could get the most out of keyshot :)
=> what do you think?

Modifying a small part of the geometry in spaceclaim after having rendered with keyshot, you have to setup everything again...
All the plugin work is done by SpaceClaim. LiveLinking will be available with SP1 of the current version.

According to SpaceClaim it will now be in SP2. For all questions regarding the plugin please contact SpaceClaim support directly.

Do you know anything about general KS 5.0 compatibility?
and will it be possible to directly live-link the model in NURBS quality?
If so this is a step from 0 -1000miles/h in the workflow+quality ;D
It should work with KeyShot 5. I don't think it will support NURBS initially.

- there is no word spread about livelinking - do you know anything?
- what is about existing customers of Spaceclaim and Keyshot? do they have a benefit too ?
- what are the differences between Full Keyshot and this free included version?
so we tested it today and updated our keyshot-pro to v5 and spaceclaim to 2014 SP2
the good news:
you can use Spaceclaim still together with your full version of keyshot :)
the sad news:
Livelinking seems not be possible/available as far I could see:
every time you change something in spaceclaim you have to resend/reopen it in keyshot and it starts as a new part and the changes you have made in keyshot have to be redone :(
I also looked into the settings of both programs and could not anything to resolve this.
the rendering nurbs option is also greyed out in the menu....
hmm hopefully I didn't get it right and there is a special trick to activate livelinking or another way of better integration??

Or is the mentioned "update button" hidden somewhere?
every time clicking the Keyshot button in Spaceclaim a new instance of Keyshot is opened...

SpaceClaim have everything they need to implement Live Linking with KeyShot. It is not related to anything missing in KeyShot. For some unknown reason SpaceClaim decided not to implement it yet and instead call what they have Live Rendering (which is not the same). Hopefully, they will implement it in a later release or service pack.

You are right. That is a mistake. We were under the impression that SpaceClaim would implement Live Linking for the release.
