Title: Favorite Threads in Forum - watch Threads
Post by: ddolezal on April 07, 2014, 11:55:35 PM
Hello everybody,

first of all I have to admit that the forum has been a major contribution to our decision to purchase the keyshot software.
Still - I have one (or two) wishes for the forum software itself:
There are so many interesting examples and threads a newbie like me likes to remember.
And I would like to be notified if somebody adds a posting to one of these threads.

So is there a possibility to mark a thread as a favorite and have ones favorite threads in the user profile or somewhere prominently displayed when entering the forum?
Could we watch these threads and be notified when a posting is added to a watched thread?

This would make the forums to a kind of personalized Knowledge base.....

Thanks a lot,

Dieter

Hi ddolezal.
Welcome.

Have you tried the 'notify' button just to the right of the 'reply' button under each post?
That should do what you ask for :)

Hello Esben,

thanks for the reply - acutally, the notify button is only a part of my suggestion - but I am grateful that you pointed this out to me because I thought the button to have a different function.

A "collection" of favorite Threads, e.g. "my favorites" would be the other part.

Thanks again,

Dieter

You can go to profile --> modify profile --> notifications.
Here you get an overview over your "notified" post. Maybe you can use that.
Have you considered using your browsers bookmarks to save favorite threads?

Hello Esben,

this is indeed a possibility.

Still - I would like to have this information present on my startup page ("one-click-away")

And the reason I do not favor bookmarks is that I am working on 3 different systems plus smartphone & tablet.

Thanks a lot for your input,

Dieter
