Title: Render just shadow with model invisible
Post by: keaneray on May 13, 2014, 12:18:24 PM
Hi guys,

Is it possible to just render the complete shadow with the model invisible? Below will show what I'm trying to achieve.

Cheers,

Ray

Yes, this is possible. Link all the materials in your model and set them to the emissive material type. Uncheck "Visible to Camera" and "Visible to Reflections" and make sure Global Illumination is turned off in your realtime settings. I also added a ground plane to improve my ground shadow quality.

You can see the desired effect in the attached images  :)

And pull it as a TIFF, with Alpha checked. Then you can easily duplicate the shadow layer as many times as needed to "darken" it.
