Paused KS yesterday, went away from my computer for 5 minutes, came back and my system was unresponsive... couldn't move screen cursor, no Ctrl Alt Del and no keyboard input.
Had to switch off and on, which is never a good thing in those circumstances... booted back up a couple of hours later and started using Keyshot, paused the renderer and about 30 seconds later, the same thing happened, system freezes completely, totally unresponsive.
I am using all 8 cores for KS, I want to try and drop the cores down and see if it still happens, but I'm not happy about doing it as I don't want to keep powering the system up and down in that manner, it's not healthy.
The problem is definitely KS as I ran my system no problems for a few hours late last night, using Keyshot (unpaused) rendering different kinds of scenes, it performed impeccably, I then hit the pause button and it was goodnight Vienna...
Can you please look into this for me... My rig is Intel i7 4790K, 32GB RAM, Windows 8.1 x64
I would be interested to know if anybody else is having this same issue
Thanks
John
Hey John,
Just tested on our windows 8 machine with no problems.
Sorry, I've got to go with 'The metal Master'.
I paused the screen render and tried to do a full render. The computer locked up solid, no cursor movement, nothing.
I did the same thing several times with no failure, but once is enough for me...
I7 3770K @ 4.3 GHz, 32 Gig RAM, Windows 7 64 bit.
Interesting, as I've not had this problem. Win7x64, 32 cores, 64GB ram. I pause KS5 often during calls and such, as my overclocked liquid cooled BOXX really cranks it on when KS is idelling or rendering.
