Title: how to export materials
Post by: lweisz on September 23, 2010, 05:26:48 AM
Hello,
How can i export all the materials library from Hypershot (Bunkspeed) to the materials library of Keyshot. The Hypershot materials are .BMF File, the one from Keyshot are.mtl. I've tried to copy all the materials from Hypershot into the folder Materials of Keyshot, but it doesn't work, because when i open Keyshot, i don't see any of them (apart originally the ones from Keyshot).
Where is the trick, is it possible?
Thanks for your help.
Sorry for my english

HyperShot material library files are .bip files. If you have .bip files, simply drop them into the Materials folder in your KeyShot Resources. .BMF files are not HyperShot material files.

In a similar vein, I have high resolution .jpg's of materials I would like to add to the library. How can .jpg's be converted to .bip's? I am very particular about the types and grain of wood I need to render furniture and none of the available materials will do.
Thanks

Simply add them as a texture to a material. For wood I suggest to take a plastic as your material as you can nicely control the specular highlight.
