Title: Radiator shots
Post by: DriesV on October 15, 2014, 01:16:34 AM
Just a simple shot of a radiator on a green background. :)
Straight KeyShot screenshot from a VR scene. White is such a tough balancing act. :)

I just finished rendering VRs of our complete product range. That's a total of 65 x 288 frames in one week on 32 cores...
We're trying to get them all published on the website by the end of the year. I'm figuring out a way to show them here too...

Nice Dries... although the rough metal on the top one needs some love and they would look more realistic if the green background was part of an actual environment so there was some colour bleed onto the radiators

Looking good. That green background is so loud ! You would be better with a white on white. Or do what J suggest get that green color in the rads.

I gave this thing a little more love...
I agree about the screamy background. :)

Would you guys be interested in having a play with this scene?
I'd love to see how you guys would push this...

Glad to see more radiator. Been too long Dries!

Maybe try my old favorite of a ground plane with two surfaces.  Underside a chrome (colored if you wish) and the top surface a frosted glass.  It's fun also to add a wavy, cast iron or rippled bump to the glass.  Crazy stuff happens!

Dries,
Thanks for sharing.
Here is my attempt. I'm sure the materials I used are too dirty for a product shot. I will do a clean version.
Thanks for sharing.

@Tim:

Hey, nice IES action going on. ;)

In fact, I think the copper pipes are too clean. :)

@John:

That has to be one of the 'Standard(4T)' scenes.

Looks great, Tim! That's what copper pipes look like when they've been installed for a while. :)
Loving the DOF too.

OK, Last one. Figure I would do one if it was going to be used for a product image.
Thanks again for sharing your models !!!!
