Title: Keyshot 5 brightness differences between animation and render
Post by: kubafootbag on November 13, 2014, 10:36:16 AM
Hello,

I'm having problem using keyshot 5 with the brighness of some elements. Problem is simple: some elements in animation mode behave different way than in static render mode.

Obviously I do not change any of render's parameters.

Here is the video I rendered today:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JImMxaWEdFg&feature=youtu.be

What's interesting, if i use only camera animation in the video everything is all right as you can see at this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yudRZf2kXoc&feature=youtu.be

And as the attachement to the topic I enclosed the static render picture I did before.

Does anybody know what could be a reason of that?

Would be very thankful for your support :)

Kuba

Hard to say - did you render it out in performance mode by any chance?

Thank you for your reply.

You can be right. While creating second animation I was using mostly performance mode (before that I hadn't known it) and saved a file using that mode but before rendering I changed to normal mode.

Is it possible that only the fact of using performance mode in general in the project could make some changes in light/brightness of final render?

Performance mode turns off all shadows (ground and self), reduces ray bounces to 2, turns of reflections on ground, and turns of GI. So yes, it is possible to see such a big difference.
