Title: thin shadows on background material
Post by: steflad on February 03, 2015, 04:18:52 AM
Hi there,

I am trying to separately render watch handles with their on shadows.
I used a disc with a background material on it to get transparency.

The render looks good but once the transparent file gets open in photoshop the thinnest shadow is missing... Any idea of a setting I could have missed?

thanks for your help

Take a look at the attached files, I tried to quickly mock up a similar scenario.

The only difference between the two images is the background color, one was rendered on white and the other on black.
Even though the final output file was a transparent PNG, the shadows are affected by the background color.

Try using a darker background color (not white) which should help your shadows pop a little bit more.
