Title: Open vs Import
Post by: jhiker on October 14, 2010, 08:25:04 AM
File - 'Open' or File - 'Import' what's the difference?

Can I use either option on an STP CAD file exported from Alibre?

With "open" you can open the BIP files
With import, you import models from different programs like rhino, solidworks, 3dsmax etc....

"Import" gives you the option to combine multiple BIPs, OBJs, etc. "Open" just opens a single file you have.

"Can I use either option on an STP CAD file exported from Alibre?" Yes.

Only if you have the "regular" version of KeyShot. The integrated version with ALIBRE will only open and import bip files. All imports will have to go directly through Alibre.
