(If above embed doesn't work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrpML-1h4x4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrpML-1h4x4))'Temporal' is just a test to see if I can accurately simulate the work by John Edmark with his 3D printed blooms.

This was created by setting up a test plate in Keyshot, placing it in a spinning 24fps camera environment (at 9.166 rotations per second) and letting it animate.
The model had a Faux Marble-esque material created for it to render the light in various transparencies.
The movement of the camera at this RPM whilst recording at 24fps creates a Strobe like image, which makes the object look like it is moving, whereas it is just capturing the object from slightly differing angles on each frame.
The export looks like the first 5 seconds of this video where it is slowly moving (I then time reverse it for the following 5 in Hitfilm 3).
I then use the Echo command at varying degrees of 20 iterations in Hitfilm 3 to create the spiral patterns, which are essentially just time displaced images of the same 3D animation.
This create some pretty cool patterns and I hope to work on this some more.
Let me know if you like it.

Thats amazing - I'm off to get my bong then watch it full screen... man 8)
I like it dude - Very tranquil :)

Beautiful. Great execution!
Wow. Thank you all for the kind comments. This system relies heavily on specific physical lights (I am assuming Keyshot 6 would speed up rendering for this, but I don't have it to test *hint hint*).
I have another one in progress tonight!
Edit: Here it is, test number 2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gedHGmgx8Q
Are embeds not working for anyone else? Or do you see them fine? Might just be me.
New test video:

That could end up be rather hypnotic if not careful :)

I think so too!
Having lots of fun experimenting. Latest one using fake volumetric lighting.

Nice!
The volumetric light looks great. Did you add it in AE or how did you create it? :)

It was from Hitfilm 3, simply an animated light ray. Looks cool though!
Edit:
Another new one, let me know what you think.

The more the merrier - Well done :)

These are crazy, and always welcome. Fun to watch. Nice execution!
