Title: Problem Moving objects
Post by: rauledo on November 15, 2010, 03:20:07 AM
Hello,

I'm a Keyshot user from the first edition.
I usually work with Rhino and exporting objects by layers (one layer = one material).

The problem consists in:

1º When I try to move/rotate/scale an object (only I want to rotate one layer for instance) keyshot rotates all the layers, i try switchin on/off the layers in the scene tree, but it doesn´t work.

2º If you export from rhino naming layers, when I import the files, all of them lose the name .(very uncomfortable).

Could be very helpful for users, a post with all the details about how to export from rhino properly.

Thanks for your feedback.

@1 - correct - this is how it currently works. You can only move all layers.
@2 - the plugin currently loses the names, but the direct importer keeps those.

Thanks for your reply Thomas,

-I used to save my files in rhino (one object=one layer ) like a rhino file: .3dm

(Every layer has a different name to identify properly in keyshot) and it works when you add the materials, but the objects lose the names.

and Keyshot replaces int he scene tree like this:  -layer_13
                                                                  -layer_7
                                                                  -layer_6....

I tried exporting by .IGS files and keyshot keeps the number RGB colours composition.

What do you propose?

Thanks
